Cool fixtures and a hot party. Once again, Leggett & Platt was the talk of GlobalShop.

Despite the presence of over 900 exhibitors, the Leggett & Platt booth was the center of attention at GlobalShop. The unique booth was designed not just as a showcase for Leggett fixtures, but as a meeting place for show attendees and Leggett representatives.

“Our goal was to make our booth as interactive as possible,” said Karin Prior, Vice President, Marketing for Leggett & Platt Store Fixtures Group. “We are very pleased with the number of people who took the time to meet with us one-on-one and discuss their needs.”

Thanks to the unique design of the booth, with its private meeting rooms, hundreds of attendees discovered an oasis of calm on the GlobalShop exhibit hall where they could explore both the challenges they face and the opportunities Leggett offers them. Outside of the private rooms, show attendees saw a unique display of Leggett capabilities.

“We really wanted to give GlobalShop attendees a real sense of who we are, what we can do, and who we do it for,” commented Joel Katterhagen, Executive Vice President, Sales.

To that end, the Leggett booth featured displays in a wide variety of materials, from wood to glass to metal and more, representing work done for clients as diverse as JC Penney, Wal-Mart, Dillard’s, Charlotte Russe and others. The fixtures also displayed a wide range of applications from showcases to gondolas, racks, checkouts, shelving, shoe displays, and Hindsgaul® mannequins.

Among the standouts were the fixtures Leggett & Platt created for Macy’s as part of its Floranova celebration of Latino art, color and culture. Designed and manufactured by L&P Studio, the custom fixtures attracted attention not only in the GlobalShop expo hall, but also in Macy’s flagship Chicago store on State Street.

Leggett had its own unique celebration at Chicago’s famed Sound-Bar on Tuesday evening, March 18th.

The annual Leggett & Platt GlobalShop party was—as usual—the talk of the show. This exclusive event was held at one of Chicago’s newest and hottest nightclubs, the Sound-Bar. It was an evening that the over 300 guests will long remember.

The Sound-Bar offered partygoers over 20,000 sq. ft. of space to dance, dine, mix and mingle. Beyond the food and drink, attendees were thrilled by a state-of-the-art audio and lighting systems, with multiple levels and dance floors, Of course, there were some secluded places…but what happens at the Leggett party stays at the Leggett party.

All in all, when it came to working and playing, GlobalShop 2008 was a great success for Leggett and its clients.
